An atom is the smallest particle of an element. It consists of a central nucleus and electron clouds outside the nucleus.
Electrons- (-) charge Nuetrons- no charge Protons- (+) charge
The electrons of an atom are bound to the nucleus by the electromagnetic force.A group of atoms can stay connected to each other by something known as a chemical bond. This then forms a molecule. An atom is classified according to the number of protons and neutrons in its nucleus. The number of protons determines the chemical element, and the number of nuetrons determines the isotope of that element.
Me as a student.
I cannot say much about how I am as a student. I try my hardest in school, but struggle with getting things done out of school. In my Chemistry class we do a lot of labs and experiments to help us understand the way that things work. We learn a lot about chemicals and study things, such as, atoms, density and the periodic table. Some of the labs that we do in class interest me and teach me knew things, but others may not interest me at all. This is my second time taking Chemistry so its mostly just a review from last year. I have done almost all of these labs before so I may not be as interested as the other students in my class. I hope to pass my class this year with a good grade.
